Clever energy use for more sustainability in the hotel
At Kröll, you can soak guilt-free in the wonderfully warm whirlpool on the roof terrace with panoramic mountain views before returning to your air-conditioned room for a restorative nap – because the energy for your warming and cooling #realtime moments at Kröll comes from our rooftop photovoltaic system. Our sustainable energy generation is complemented by intelligent, automated control systems. For example, the water from our whirlpool is drained into a tank in the evening and purified using a filter system so that it’s fresh and ready for your feel-good dip the next day. The advantage: less chlorine and energy consumption. By the way, our other swimming pools are all salt-water pools, which helps us care for the environment by reducing the need for chlorine.
Goodness from our farm
A few slices of fragrant, home-smoked Speck bacon as an afternoon snack, then delicious apple strudel made with freshly harvested apples from our orchard as a sweet finish. At our eco-friendly hotel in South Tyrol, the tasty treats are good, regional, and real. At our family farm, we put a whole lot of love into growing fruit, vegetables, and herbs, which you enjoy at breakfast, the afternoon snack, and in the mouth-watering dishes at dinner – as local as it gets. We know you’ll taste the difference.
Exploring South Tyrol
without a car
Arrive at Kröll, pack your car key away, and have almost forgotten where you put it a few days later. Sounds like your dream holiday? At Kröll, it’s easy to make it come true: the footpath is just down from our eco-friendly hotel in South Tyrol – heading right takes you into Schenna village centre, left directly down to Merano. In the village, you can also access countless hiking trails like the Schenna or Mais Waalweg trails, and all of Merano and Environs is yours to explore by bike. Especially practical for excursions: the bus stop on Via Scena/Schennastrasse, 100 metres above Kröll and just a 2-minute walk away. The bus takes you directly into Merano, where you can transfer to reach other South Tyrolean gems like the provincial capital Bolzano – totally free of charge thanks to the Südtirol Guest Pass Schenna.
