To Kröll?
Right this way.

Relaxing journey, relaxing holiday

One of our guests’ favourite moments at Kröll: the road that leads to Kröll gives you your first glimpse of the spectacular lush-green mountain landscape around Schenna. Before you’ve even completed check-in, the panoramic windows in the bar next door start beckoning you outside. Unhurriedly – you are on holiday, after all – you make your way through the bar area and out onto the terrace. All you can think is “Wow.” That’s how we feel every day, and even after all these years, we still love it. Our charming, chic spa town of Merano, just a 10-minute drive away. The footpath to Merano or into Schenna village centre right outside the hotel. Countless bike routes starting from our doorstep, the bus stop just a 2-minute walk further up. And luckily for you, you have #realtime to explore it all.

Arriving by train and bus

Thanks to our prime location near Merano and on the area’s main hiking trails and bike routes, a holiday at Kröll can also give you a break from your car. And let’s be honest: arriving by train and bus is pretty comfortable. Simply sit back, chat for a while, take a nap, read a good book … and get your holiday off to a relaxing start.

Regional, national, and international trains bring you comfortably to the provincial capital of Bolzano, where you can seamlessly transfer to the Schenna shuttle run by the tourism association or the South-Tyrol-wide “Südtirol Transfer” connecting shuttle. Alternatively, you can also travel from Bolzano to Merano by train.

Your direct route to Kröll

From March to November, the Meraner Land Express is a great alternative to the train for guests travelling to our hotel from Germany. From the central bus station in Munich, it brings you directly to Schenna every Wednesday and Sunday in comfortable coaches.
If you’re travelling from Switzerland, the Südtirol Express is available once a week from April to October. The coach service connects St. Gallen and Zurich with Merano, from where you can easily reach Kröll by shuttle. There are also Flixbus services that bring you to Bolzano from numerous European cities. You can then reach Kröll by shuttle or public transport.

Your direct route to Kröll

You can reach your #realtime holiday quickly and comfortably by plane. While we don’t have our own runway at Kröll (our garden might be big, but it’s not that big), Bolzano airport is only 31 kilometres and just under half an hour away. The direct flights offered by South Tyrolean airline SkyAlps bring you to the provincial capital several times a week from London, Antwerp, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hamburg, and other European destinations. The Schenna shuttle run by the tourism association or the South-Tyrol-wide “Südtirol Transfer” connecting shuttle lets you reach your holiday hideaway in no time at all.

The address and coordinates for your satnav:
Via Scena 50, 39017 Scena (or in German: Schennastrasse 50, 39017 Schenna)

Our little tip: it’s easier to find Kröll with our route description, as certain navigation systems get, let’s say, a little confused – which is why we’ve decided to do their job for them. After entering Schenna, drive past the open-air public swimming pool and Hotel Lagrein, until you see Hotel Walter. Now it’s time to pay attention, because directly before Hotel Walter, you turn left and head downhill towards Hotel Kröll – the reason for our undisturbed panoramic location. Is the road getting quite narrow? Perfect, then you’re heading in the right direction. You’ll see our feel-good hideaway on the right-hand side very soon.

Our tip: travelling midweek lets you avoid annoying traffic jams and treat yourself to #realtime on your journey, too.
